Benefits Eligibility:

Employees are eligible to participate in Benefits offered through the Salina Public Schools if they work in position subject to the Negotiated Agreementthat is scheduled to work 17.5 hours (.452 FTE) or more per week or 30 hours a week for other positions, and are in a non-temporary position which is scheduled to work the entire school year. New employees, who are benefits eligible, must sign up for benefits within the first 30 days of employment. After 30 days, employees are locked into the plan, and can only make changes that are deemed a Qualifying Event under Section 125 and are also accepted by the specific insurance company.

Benefit Offerings:

The Salina Public Schools offers various benefits listed on the left of this page. Some of these benefits qualify to be with held on a pre-tax basis utilizing the Salina Public Schools Section 125 Plan. Employees who enroll in Health insurance, Cancer Insurance, Heart & Stroke Insurance, Medical Expense Reimbursement, and/or Dependant Daycare will automatically have premiums withheld under the Section 125 Plan. If an employee does not wish have premiums withheld on a pre-tax basis, a Section 125 waiver form will need to be completed within the first 30 days of employment or during the annual Open Enrollment period.
