Encumbrance Listings
The board of education approved the following encumbrances: (1) MasteryConnect, $50,500, premium student licenses and web professional development; (2) Johnson Controls, $229,818.32, electronic entry control at all exterior doors and outside cameras at Oakdale, Sunset, Schilling and Meadowlark elementary schools; (3) Dell, $42,677.30, desktop computers; and (4) CDW-G, $4,780.00, monitors. The computers and monitors will be used for educational services provided by Smoky Hill Education Service Center at St. Francis Academy.
Central High Fundraising Activity
The board of education approved Central High School's fundraiser for “Discount Cards” to area businesses. Funds will be used to purchase miscellaneous equipment, t-shirts and team-building activities.
South High Fundraising Activity
The board of education approved South High School's fundraiser for “Cougar Cards” to area businesses. Funds will be used to purchase weight equipment, video equipment and supplies.
Intent to Apply
The board of education approved the Oakdale 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Intent to Apply.
Kansas Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Grant
The board of education approved the Kansas Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Grant Application for $576,000. This grant will provide center-based all-day services to 51 enrolled children birth to age 3.
Kansas Early Head Start Home Visitation Grant
The board of education approved the Kansas Early Head Start Home Visitation Grant Application for $242,000. This grant will provide services to 34 enrolled children birth to age 3. The program serves income-eligible families.
Kansas Parents as Teachers Grant Application
The board of education approved the Kansas Parents as Teachers Program Continuation Grant Application for $80,583. Includes a cash match of $51,534, for a total budget of $132,117.
Grant Applications
The board of education approved the State Pre-K: 4-Year Old At-Risk Program Continuation Grant for 60 children age four. The Kansas Preschool Pilot (KPP) Grant Application was also approved for $195,000.
19-20 Textbook Rental Fees
The board of education approved the textbook rental fees for the 19-20 school year; $60 for students in grades kindergarten through eight and $100 for students in grades nine through twelve.

The board of education approved on second reading the following policies: ADA-School Census, BCAC-Special Meetings, CEL-Defined Contribution Retirement Plan/Early Retirement Phase Out, CN-Public Records, EBBE-Emergency Drills, GAAC-Sexual Harassment, GAACA-Racial and Disability Harassment: Employees, GAAF-Emergency Safety Intervention, GACA-Positions, JCAC-Interrogation and Investigations, JGEC-Sexual Harassment, JGECA-Racial and Disability Harassment: Students, JGFG-Student Accidents, and KCB-Custodial and Non-Custodial Parent Rights.
High School Pilot Schedule
Curtis Stevens, South High School principal, and Nate Showman, Central High School principal, updated the board on the high school pilot schedule implemented during the 2018-19 school year.
Middle School Pilot Schedule
Bonnie Welty, Lakewood Middle School principal, and Dustin Dooley, South Middle School principal, presented the middle school pilot schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

Superintendent's Report
