Schilling Elementary Gift Acceptance

The board of education approved the gift acceptance to Schilling Elementary School in the amount of $12,000 from the Kansas Masonic Literary Center.

Sunset Elementary Gift Acceptance

The board of education approved the gift from Cheney Construction, Inc. for the purchase and installation of an additional two-bay swing set at Sunset Elementary School at an estimated cost of $25,000.

Lakewood Middle Fundraising Activity

The board of education approved the fundraising activity for Lakewood Middle School as per Policy JHA-Fundraising Activities.

South Middle Fundraising Activity

The board of education approved the fundraising activity for South Middle School as per Policy JHA-Fundraising Activities.

Out-of-State Field Trip

The board of education approved the South High Teen Builder trip to Navajo Nation in Nageezi, NM on October 19- 22, 2018.

Out-of-State Field Trip

The board of education approved the Central High Journalism trip to Chicago, IL on November 1-4, 2018.

Superintendent Search

Representatives from the Kansas Association of School Boards presented the services they provide when conducting a superintendent search and the process they would use.

Superintendent's Report

Dr. James Hardy, superintendent of schools, reported that USD 305 Horizon teachers were announced; Brooke Hawkins, 3rd grade teacher at Heusner Elementary School, and Michael Billinger, computer/digital literacy teacher at Lakewood Middle School. Dr. Hardy spoke to students in the introduction to teaching course at Central High School and delivered the welcome at the Region 1 Teacher of the Year luncheon and he attended the Kansas State Polytechnic Dean's Advisory Board meeting.
